Welcome to MindOut
MindOut is a mental health service run by and for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer (LGBTQ) people.
We work to improve the mental health and wellbeing of all LGBTQ communities and to make mental health a community concern.
We recognise that our communities are wonderfully diverse and welcome all LGBTQ+ people including those who identify as asexual, aromantic, pansexual, non-binary, genderqueer, genderfluid and intersex.
Our services are also available to those who may not identify under the LGBTQ umbrella, including straight people who have sexual and/or romantic relationships with LGBTQ people, men who have sex with men, women who have sex with women, people who previously identified as LGBTQ and those who are questioning their sexual and/or gender identities. If you are unsure, please do get in touch with us.
Our services are for LGBTQ people aged 18+ who are based in Brighton and Hove, with the exception of our Online Support service which is available globally. See below for opening times.

Winter and the lead up to Christmas can be a particularly difficult time....
... and the LGBTQ+ community are often faced with additional challenges to their mental health including
- Social Isolation and loneliness
- Hiding their identity and authentic selves
- Family issues
- Relationship breakdowns
- Grief and loss
- Financial stress
- Increased self-harm and suicidal ideation
We rely on the generosity of people that believe in our mission to operate our services. Without you, our vital work would not be possible.

Find out how MindOut helped Christine
Watch Christine’s selfie to find out why she feels LGBTQ specific services like MindOut are crucial when experiencing the double whammy of discrimination because of her mental health issues as well as her sexual identity.
I want to talk about the importance of having LGBTQ specific services for people with mental health issues – when you are gay and you have mental health issues it’s like a double attack sometimes…
