Hello From MindOut’s New Community Engagement Worker!

My name is Rowan Davis and I have recently taken over the role of Community Engagement Worker at MindOut. As part of the cross-Brighton & Hove Community Roots Partnership, I am working with service users from a range of backgrounds that have multiple support needs and a lack of access to statutory and community services.

I work collaboratively with service users to help them gain greater engagement with supportive services, and to provide emotional and listening support, as well as advocacy and representation where needed. Together we can work on varied issues, from getting you into a supportive GP practice, to accessing LGBTQ community services, and helping you navigate complex council systems.

As part of MindOut’s broader casework team, we can offer both solution- and recovery-focused support, from short term interventions like getting you signed up to the Wellbeing Service, more medium-term goals like helping you navigate trans healthcare systems, and more long-term projects like helping you build a wider community support network to gain resilience.

We are taking referrals from both professionals and service users. So if you or anyone you work with might benefit from the project please get in touch. I can be reached via my email at [email protected] or via MindOut’s central switchboard at 01273 234839.
