Lama Rod Owens event in Brighton

MindOut is very excited that Lama Rod Owens, Buddhist minister, is coming to Brighton for an event on 'Queer Resiliency in Times of Change'.

Lama Rod is a US Buddhist teacher, bestselling author, activist, and authorized Lama in the Kagyu School of Tibetan Buddhism.

He will be in Brighton for a day of reflection and sharing on Saturday April 2nd, from 11:00 - 16:00.  The event will be held at Community Base, 113 Queen’s Road, Brighton.

Admission is by donation.  For more information and to book, please check out the Bodhi Tree Brighton website.

As Lama Rod says: “We are living through a period of deep disruption. Marginalized communities have historically experienced the impact of systematic disruption more directly, and have often been at the forefront of creating communities of deep care and resiliency in the face of intense change. For the LGBTQIA+ BIPOC community, we have seen more violence against transgender woman, higher levels of financial, food, and housing insecurity, as well as threats to our access to health care. In this dialogue, we will explore this reality along with practices of spiritual care and resiliency to help us as individuals and as a community navigate these times.'
