Feeling lonely this holiday season? Want to talk to another LGBTQ+ person?
Feelings of loneliness and isolation are really common this time of year, especially for LGBTQ+ communities. The winter months can be hard for many of us, and having another LGBTQ+ person to talk to can make all the difference.
MindOut’s Online Support workers will be online EVERY DAY this holiday season and we’d love to hear from you. We understand what you are going through and are here to listen.
Our Online Support workers are all LGBTQ+ and have their own lived experience of mental health so we know first-hand how difficult this time of year can be. You can find the times that we are open on every page of our website, or if you leave us a message, we’ll get back to you when we’re next online.
“I received kind and thoughtful messages that made me feel like the person I was talking to genuinely cared and wanted to help. I feel like I’ve been listened to for the first time in ages and I really appreciate that. I feel a lot better about the decisions I’ve been struggling with.”
“I was experiencing very intense loneliness, and it helped so much to have someone to listen to me and talk to me about what’s worrying me.”
“The [Online Support Worker] was incredibly empathetic, and it was very comforting to have my jumbled emotions echoed back in a considered manner, making me feel as though I wasn’t alone, and my feelings were perfectly valid.”
